NEW YORK – Michael Jordan is taking part in NBC’s NBA coverage when the league returns to the network as a “special contributor” later this year. It was announced at NBC’s prepaid event for Advertisers on Monday.
The exact role of the six-time champion remains unknown, but Jordan reported that NBC coverage was a big part of his career when he led the Chicago Bulls dynasty in the 1990s.
“I’m very excited to see NBC come back with NBC,” Jordan said. “The NBA at NBC is a meaningful part of my career and I am excited to be a special contributor to the project. I look forward to seeing you all when the NBA starts this October.”
“Michael’s legacy speaks for itself on and off the court,” said Rick Koldella, president of NBC Sports. “We are extremely proud to have him participate in our coverage.”
Mike Tirico, the lead voice of NBC Sports, became the number one NBA announcer to become the network’s NBA announcer at the start of the 2025-26 season, revealing the news in news about NBC’s plans to bring the NBA back to Airwaves. Later in the presentation, Jimmy Fallon, host of “Tonight’s Show,” joked.
