Do you like donuts? This Friday, June 6th, there’s the perfect excuse to enjoy one or more free. Donna’s National Day is celebrated nationwide with promotions from chains such as Dunkin, Krispy Kreme, Duck Donuts, Tim Horton’s and Shipled Nuts.
In addition to the sweet offer, this celebration has historical roots. It was founded in 1938 by the Salvation Army.

Why is National Donna Day celebrated?
Beyond the discount, this date has a patriotic background. Born in 1938 to honor the voluntary woman who provided donuts to our soldiers at the European trench during World War I.
This year in 2025, the Salvation Army pays tribute to veterans from various cities who distribute doughnuts and memorial activities for free, including the National Comelon Championship at the World War I Memorial in Washington, DC.
