‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ actress dies after being hit by car in New York
Wen Davis was hit by a car in New York City on December 8th. She died at the age of 60.
On December 8, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” actor Wen Alton Davis died in a car accident in New York.
The 60-year-old man, who used the pronouns “they/them,” was struck by a car while walking in midtown Manhattan, police confirmed to USA TODAY on Dec. 10.
The New York City Police Department said in a statement that on Dec. 8, at approximately 8:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a person. The NYPD did not identify Davis as the victim, but confirmed that the pedestrian was struck as he was walking at the intersection of West 53rd Street and Broadway.

How did Wen Davies die?
Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Unit determined that a black 2023 Cadillac XT6, driven by a 61-year-old man, struck Davis “near the south crosswalk of Broadway” as the driver was turning left.
Davis suffered “severe head and body trauma” and was taken to nearby Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
USA TODAY has reached out to Davis’ representatives for comment.
Has anyone been arrested in Wen Davis’ death?
Police said the 61-year-old driver who hit Davis with his car was unharmed and remained at the scene. His name has not been released.
The NYPD also said there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
Wen Davis’ representative pays tribute to the actor
Davis’ agent, Jamie Harris, posted a touching tribute on Instagram on Wednesday, December 10th.
“No words yet, only (love),” Harris wrote alongside a photo of her and Davis. “Rest in peace, old friend. We will miss you forever.”
Who is Wen Davies?
A working actor with several titles, Davis often plays detectives and police officers, appearing as a police officer in a season 5 episode of Mrs. Maisel and as a police officer in the 2011 film Shame.
The “New Amsterdam” actor’s other credits include “Girls5Eva,” “Blindspot” and “American Odyssey.”
They lived in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Queens, according to the NYPD.
Davis’ last Instagram post was four weeks ago on Veterans Day. “Happy Veterans Day to my dad, brother-in-law, and all other veterans!” they wrote in the caption.
