Most stores will remain open to survive bankruptcy at home

The home has emerged from bankruptcy after a federal court approved plans to restructure the popular household goods chain on Wednesday, Oct. 1.

According to a previous report by USA Today, the Coppel, Texas-based company filed for bankruptcy in June due to wide economic and retail-specific market pressures.

The US Bankruptcy Court for the Delaware District confirmed its home reorganization plan. This means that the chain can re-emerge from bankruptcy and continue operations.

According to the company’s news release, the company expects to complete at home under conditions of the plan, which is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

In a statement, home CEO Brad Weston said: “We are delighted to have reached this important milestone in our efforts to be located at home for future success.”

Still, the company announced that 31 of the more than 220 locations will be closed as part of the transition, with many stores already estimated to be closed.

USA Today contacted us at home on Thursday, October 2nd, but we had not received a response.

The company’s website states that it will “continuously evaluate current store leases with a focus on improving profitability in the future.”
