The members of the girl group HUNTR/X featured in the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters are already dominating the streaming and music worlds. The next conquest is Halloween.

Based on the latest Google search data, this season’s most popular Halloween costumes come from the Netflix streaming hit, with Rumi, Zoe, and Mila (the trio that makes up the fictional demon-hunting singing group HUNTR/X) taking the top three spots.

4th and 5th place are also characters from “KPop Demon Hunter”. This is Jinwoo and Baby Saga from Saga Boys, a boy band made up of demons. It’s also in the top 10 of Google’s Frightgeist rankings. Another animated film, Derpy the Tiger, ranks 8th.

How popular is “KPop Demon Hunter”‘s Halloween costume?

The “KPop Demon Hunter” costume is popular nationwide, according to research from Google’s Frightgeist, which compares search trend data for September 2025 with data from a year ago.

  • Rumi is also the most searched item for children’s costumes, with Lovebu coming in second. Other KPop Demon Hunter characters dominate the top 10 for kids, with Zoe in 3rd place, Mira (4th place), Jinwoo (5th place), Baby Saja (6th place), and Derpy the Tiger (7th place).
  • More than 80% of all metropolitan areas had at least one KPop Demon Hunter costume in their top 5 trending costumes.
  • The top 5 trending outfits in Los Angeles, Honolulu, and Houston were all from “KPop Demon Hunter.”
  • Rumi from “KPop Demon Hunter” was the top trending costume in just over 50% of US metropolitan areas.

In anticipation of demand, Spirit Halloween partnered with Netflix to offer exclusive “KPop Demon Hunter” costumes for kids and adults. Checking the Spirit Halloween website, it appears that many items are sold out online, but are still available for purchase at Spirit Halloween stores.

It’s no wonder that “KPop Demon Hunters” dominate Google’s fear mentality. That’s because this animated film about a K-pop girl group also battling demons is dominating the entertainment zeitgeist.

After being released on Netflix in June, a sing-along version of the film was released in theaters in August and became a hit. Singers Ije, Audrey Nuna, and Ray Ami, who provide the singing voices for the members of HUNTR/X in the film, appeared on “Saturday Night Live” on October 4th and on Jimmy Fallon’s “The Tonight Show” on Tuesday, October 7th.

The song they performed in the film, “Golden,” reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100, and three more songs from the film’s soundtrack charted. The film remains the No. 2 most streamed movie in the U.S. for the week of September 1-7, according to Nielsen.
