Powerball, Mega Millions Jackpot: What do you know if you win?
Here’s what you need to know in case you win a Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot.
Just a FAQ, USA TODAY
The self-proclaimed homebody has become the winner of the record Powerball Jackpot.
The Missouri player, who won half the $178.7 billion jackpot on September 6, broke the silence this week and said he took time off and “enjoy the experience,” the state lottery committee announced in a news release.
“I’ll just do me for a year.”
“This is the best problem I’ve ever had,” he continued, “I explained the sleepless night between when he realized his ticket was the winner and the day,” he made a trip to the state capital.
A few months after the Big Jackpot winner, tickets were drawn that recently won the Jackpot Award for Powerball Jackpot, close to recordings, in Missouri and Texas.
The Missouri winner, not publicly identified, has opted for a one-off payment of $410 million, lottery officials have announced.
Winning tickets were purchased at Quiktrip on Lusher Road, St. Louis County.
The award marked the biggest Missouri lottery player ever won.
“The perfect day”
The winner added that he is looking forward to spending time with his wife and plans to reduce his workload after the victory, according to a news release from lottery officials.
“I’m like a homebody. On perfect days I’m sitting at home and doing what I do – relax,” the winner said. He said his wife “I’m going to drag me out of town now.”
The Quick Pick Ticket was one of two tickets nationwide that matched all six numbers drawn on September 6th. Each ticket holder has earned nearly $893.5 million in taxes.
According to officials, Quiktrip received a $50,000 bonus to sell winning tickets in the jackpot.
