  • Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe has called for a special legislative meeting to redraw the state’s legislative map.
  • Kehoe has published his “first map of Missouri.”
  • President Trump praised Kehoe’s proposed map, believing it would help Republicans win additional seats in the home.

Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe said he is calling a special legislative meeting to draw a new voting map.

Republicans who are following President Trump’s national demands to help Republicans maintain a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives have announced they have ordered the general meeting to meet for a special session that will begin on September 3 in Jefferson City on August 29th.

According to the release, Kehoe has announced the announcement of the “First Map of Missouri.” This is what he calls “a more compact and adjacent proposed map,” and was created and created by the team for state legislative members to consider.

Kehoe said the map divides fewer counties and municipalities than current counties, preserves the two current legislative districts, and retains all members of the Missouri legislative delegation in the current district.

“Today, I am asking the General Assembly to take action on the lifting of Congressional districts and reforming initiative petitions, and to make our district and the Constitution truly put Missouri values first,” Kehoe said in a statement. “This is about voter clarity and our future ownership, and we hope that Congress will work together to pass Missouri’s first map and much-needed IP reform.”

The Missouri move comes more than a week after California lawmakers approved a map of Democratic-led districts to determine voters in special elections, the day after Texas House Republicans passed plans for a new district.

Texas lawmakers have given them a new map they believe will help Republicans win five more seats. Democrats argue that the new district will reduce black and Latino voting rights. In response, California Democrats passed a rezoning plan that could democratically reverse five Republican seats. California voters will need to approve temporary events in the November special election.

Missouri’s proposed release speech initiative petition reform

In addition to the proposed changes to the legislative district, the Missouri special session will address initiative petition reforms, Kehoe said.

According to a press release from Kehoe’s office, the governor will also introduce the following laws:

  • “We prohibit foreigners from contributing to statewide voting measures or to commissions against statewide voting law.
  • Establish criminal election crimes to fraudulently sign or collect signatures for statewide voting measures.
  • It provides that statewide voting measures will only be passed if the majority of voters across the state and the majority of voters in each legislative district vote to adopt the proposed measure.
  • Requires that there is an opportunity for public comment before statewide voting laws are recognized for collection.
  • The full statewide voting measurements must be printed and available to voters at all election sites and polling locations. ”

The governor said the new law will bring strength back to Missouri voters’ hands.

“For too long, Missouri’s constitution has been a victim of special out-of-state interests, in order to deceive voters, Keho said, “It’s time to give voters the opportunity to protect the constitution.”

Trump praises Keho for a new Missouri map proposal

Kehoe’s announcement attracted praise from Trump for his long, true social post on August 29th. The president said the governor’s special session will “begin passing through a new, much more fair and much improved map of Congress.”

The proposed map will “give the incredible people of Missouri a great opportunity to elect additional Maga Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections.”

“Remember, I won the 2024 presidential election by landslide, all seven swing states, popular votes, all 50 states have all Republicans, all Republicans, shifting records. “Our party has never been more unified than ever, and so we’ve done so much for Americans, so I’m calling on all of my Republican friends in the Missouri Legislature to win this new map of Congress to the ASAP on Gov. Mike Kehoe’s desk.

“Thank you, Missouri – make America great again!” Trump concluded.
