Armored Tanks arrive in DC for Trump’s military birthday parade
Armored tanks have begun arriving ahead of Saturday’s celebrations as Washington, DC prepares for the 250th anniversary of the US Army.
Preparations for the US Army’s 250th anniversary parade in Washington, D.C. are ongoing, with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
The event, held in the US capital, is set to include an Army parachute troops who jump off an aircraft and award Trump the American flag for his birthday, Pentagon officials said.
Over 20 M1 Abrams tanks, many infantry vehicles and thousands of soldiers are also expected to be involved in the event.
The last major military parade, a rare sight in Washington, D.C., was held in 1991 to celebrate the end of the first Gulf War. A massive military movement into the city comes just days after Trump sent 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles amidst immigrant crackdowns and protests.
A few days before the event on Saturday, June 14th, tanks, helicopters and other military vehicles have begun to perform in the country’s capital.
