Who is Renee Nicole Goode, the woman killed by ICE in Minneapolis?
ICE shot and killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. Who is this self-proclaimed “poet and mother from Colorado”?
A video circulating online shows a Michigan man shouting, “We executed one of them yesterday” at an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis, a day after a mother of three was shot in the head by an immigration officer in Minnesota.
The video contains explicit language and shows Jayden Scott of Bay City screaming at protesters on January 8 in response to the killing of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation on January 7.
“The storm has come…no one can stop what’s coming,” Scott said in the video, before calling anti-ICE protesters “(expletive) terrorists” and urging others to join him. “Patriots get out of here. We need backup.”
“All you liberals, you communist moms (expletive), stay out of it or you’re going to get hurt today, okay? We executed one of you yesterday,” he continued.
On January 10, Mr. Scott announced on LinkedIn that he has resigned as CEO and founder of Harmony Investment Group, a Troy-based private healthcare investment firm and exploration fund platform.
“Given recent developments in the United States, the Board of Directors and I have decided that we have different views on the future of the United States,” he said on LinkedIn. “It was a great run.”
The video of Scott’s remarks has drawn criticism online, with many users posting disapproval and negative comments on Scott’s social media accounts and LinkedIn.
The Detroit Free Press reached out to Scott, Harmony Investment Group and Scott’s former business partner for comment, but did not receive a response as of press time.
