Medical debt will return to credit report

Consumers were hit when federal judges in Texas abandoned Biden-era rules that banned the inclusion of medical debt in their credit reports.

In a move to eliminate perhaps important consumer protections, US District Judge Sean Jordan on July 11 granted a request to remove health debt rules from President Donald Trump’s administration and industry groups.

This is what it means for consumers.

Do you have pizza in your office anymore?

If your company offers free office snacks and meals, the perks could be at risk due to President Trump’s new tax laws.

Tax credits provided to employers for take-out meals and cafeteria meals offered by the company will expire at the end of this year thanks to the so-called “Big Beautiful Building” provisions that became law at the beginning of July.

Does that mean there’s no more pizza on a long work night?

An April Fool’s Day joke, created by a fast food fan account, got caught up in a White House press release on Monday.

In a modified statement since then, the Trump administration has promoted recent changes made by major food and beverage companies in response to the administration’s “Make America Healthy” initiative. Among the announcements are bullet points claiming that the California-based fast food chain has “moved to 100% beef tallow.”

Alas, it was all a joke.
