President Trump toasts at Team USA for the Ryder Cup
President Donald Trump was spotted in the Ryder Cup at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York, and cheered for Team USA on the first day of the competition.
President Donald Trump’s attendance at the Ryder Cup Golf Tournament was not enough to drive US teams to victory, and European opponents enjoyed rubbing it, evoking a whimsical response from the president.
European teams led by star golfers such as Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose have posted videos online wielding the Ryder Cup trophies and provoking Trump.
In the video, the golfer said, “Are you watching? Are you watching? Are you watching Don… Are you watching Don??”
Trump shared the video online and replied, “Yes, I’m watching. Congratulations!”
On September 26, avid golfer who owns numerous courses, Trump attended the first day of the Ryder Cup – a celebratory biennial race between American and European golfers – his granddaughter Kai mainly sees from behind a bullet-restrained glass enclosure installed behind the first tee on a black course in Bethpage State Park, New York.
The European team was able to hold back the late US rally and grab the cup despite cheerleading towards the American team led by world-leading golfer Scotty Scheffler.
The White House is celebrating this year’s Ryder Cup achievements after Trump signed a recent executive order to prevent a railroad strike on Long Island. The order created an emergency committee to investigate the conflict between Long Island Railroad Road and the Union.
Trump’s appearance at the Ryder Cup is the latest in a recent trip to a prominent athletic event for the sport-loving president. Two weeks after his White House term two weeks later, Trump became the first president to attend the Super Bowl. He laps the following weekend in a presidential limousine around a track at Daytona International Speedway before the Daytona 500.
