Mint milkshakes will soon be back on McDonald’s menus.
The Shamrock Shake, whose light green color sets it apart from other ice creams, will be available to customers again later this month ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, which falls on March 17 each year. The shakes are made with vanilla soft serve, artificially flavored mint green syrup, and whipped topping, and are typically only available to customers for a limited time.

When will Shamrock Shake be back?
The Shamrock Shake will return to McDonald’s menus starting Tuesday, February 17, according to a news release from the company. The release does not include an end date for Shamrock Shake.
McDonald’s launched the first Shamrock Shake in 1970, and the cult classic has returned to the menu every year around St. Patrick’s Day ever since.
Oreo Shamrock McFlurry is also scheduled to return.
In addition to the return of the Shamrock Shake, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry will also be back on the menu starting February 17th. The Oreo Shamrock McFlurry debuted in 2020 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Shamrock Shake. The seasonal dessert is made with vanilla soft serve, artificially flavored mint green syrup, and Oreo cookies.
How many calories are in Shamrock Shake?
McDonald’s says a medium Shamrock Shake has 540 calories and a large one has 800 calories. This compares to 570 calories for McDonald’s Medium Vanilla Shake and 650 calories for Medium Chocolate Shake.
McDonald’s says the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry contains 460 calories in a regular-sized dessert.
