The former NFL QB becomes Mark Sanchez, who became a Fox analyst, and is in a stable state after the incident.
Former NFL quarterback and current Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez faces an additional charge that allegedly involved in a violent altercation in Indianapolis early on Saturday morning.
Sanchez, 38, was first arrested and charged with several misdemeanors after being hospitalized with stab wounds over the weekend. On Monday, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced at a press conference that his office had filed charges against Sanchez against a Level 5 felony battery.
“I received an affidavit for causes that was corrected or potentially additional,” Mears said. “That additional information has added an even more serious claim against Mr. Sanchez. At this point, we have filed a felony felony felony felony.”
If convicted of a felony, Sanchez would face a sentence of 1-6 years.
Sanchez allegedly threw the 69-year-old man on the wall early Saturday morning to the ground in an argument, according to an affidavit obtained by multiple outlets, including USA Today Sports. According to the affidavit, the man said he made a statement to police in a statement and used a knife in self-defense.
Sanchez announced his Indianapolis Colts game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in Indianapolis. He was reported to be in stable condition after being hospitalized for a stab wound.
