President Trump condemns 60 Minutes interview with Marjorie Taylor Greene
President Donald Trump condemned CBS’ 60 Minutes interview with Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, once one of President Donald Trump’s staunchest allies, has once again blasted the administration as Republicans prepare for the 2026 midterm elections.
Greene criticized the party on a variety of issues, warning that the party’s actions on health care, the Epstein file and support for President Trump’s aggressive foreign policy decisions would hurt Republicans in the November election.
“If you had put America first from the beginning, not your wealthy donor class or foreign policy, you wouldn’t have to strategize how to gaslight Americans,” Greene said in a lengthy social media post on Tuesday, February 17th. “If you didn’t call the Epstein files a hoax, treat Epstein survivors (rape and human trafficking victims) like they didn’t exist, and release all the files and put his rich and powerful friends in prison,” Americans might actually listen to your “message.” ”
Mr Green also implored the party to “stop bullying, harassing and slandering us”, writing that the party was “immature” and alienating people.
Greene rose to prominence early in her parliamentary career, often drawing attention for her conspiratorial beliefs and polarizing comments. However, Georgia’s female congresswomen began to publicly break with the president and party leaders in 2025, leading to a clash with the president in the final months of the year.
Greene criticized House Republican leadership during the historic government shutdown that began in October 2025 and expressed concern about rising health care costs, which Democrats cited as a reason to vote on a spending package to reopen the government. In the weeks that followed, she railed against President Trump’s foreign policy, objecting to his travels and entertaining foreign dignitaries, and arguing that Trump needed to focus more on domestic issues in line with MAGA’s “America First” mantra.
The administration’s handling of the Epstein file also infuriated the lawmaker. She became one of the few Republicans to express dissatisfaction with the administration and party’s approach to the issue. President Trump has publicly rebuked Greene in recent months, recently calling her a “traitor.”
She reiterated these main complaints in her post, accusing the Republican Party of “covering up” pedophiles.
“And call me whatever petty name you want,” Ms. Green said in her fiery post. “I don’t worship men, I don’t belong to a cult, and I refuse to fight for a team that refuses to win.”
Greene announced her resignation from Congress in November 2025 and officially vacated her seat in January.
