Lil’ Turtles has voluntarily recalled Grandma Belle brand tomato basil soup due to an undeclared allergen, according to a statement from the Food and Drug Administration.
The Ohio-based wholesaler announced the recall on Friday, Dec. 5, saying all lots of Grandma Belle’s Tomato Basil Soup were affected because the milk allergen was not listed on the product label.
According to an announcement posted on the FDA’s website, the recalled tomato basil soup was sold in stores in multiple U.S. states from September 23, 2022 to December 3, 2025, including Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Kansas, Mississippi, Illinois, Utah, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Iowa. December 9th.
Lil’ Turtles said the issue with the recalled tomato basil soup, packaged in 17-ounce glass bottles, was discovered during a routine inspection by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. According to the statement released, no illnesses have been reported related to the recalled soups.
The FDA said people with dairy allergies or severe sensitivities to milk “are at risk of a serious allergic reaction if they consume this product.”
