In 2018, he broke out with the single “Old Town Road” in the popular country after graduating from college. The track features a buzzy remix with genre patriarch Billy Ray Cyrus, whose collaboration later became the longest-running first song in Billboard Hot 100 history. Two other Hot 100 No. 1 followed. fellow rappers Jack Harlow and The Solo “Montero (Call Me by Your Name) and “Industry Baby.”

The singer released his aptly titled debut album “Montero” in 2021.

He recently released his EP “Days Before Dreamboy” in late March. This precedes the release of their second studio album, Dreamboy, which is scheduled to drop later this year. He also boasts 11 career Grammy nominations.

But earlier this year, the hitmaker faced a health struggle, saying, “That’s what I want.” He posted an Instagram video from his hospital bed in late April, telling his followers that he “lost control on the right side” of his face.

“This is what makes me smile completely,” he said in the video, laughing at his distrust. “I can’t even laugh correctly, mate. Ah, what a god!”

He then joked about his condition on his Instagram story, but assured the fans that he was fine. “Stop being saddened with me!” he wrote. “Ima looks interesting for Lil, but that’s it,” he said, adding a crying emoji.
