The most expensive LEGO set to date, and the only LEGO that almost hits the four-digit price tag, will be released next month, the toy company announced on Thursday, September 4th.
According to the LEGO website, the ultimate collector series Death Star, inspired by the legendary “Star Wars” franchise’s lunar space station, costs $999.99 and does not include taxes.
The 28-inch tall, 32-inch wide and 11-inch diameter block set includes 9,023 pieces. LEGO recommends that for people over the age of 18.
From Star Wars: New Hope to Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, this collectible set recreates some of the most legendary moments in cinema history,” LEGO said in a September 4 news release.
Additionally, the build includes 38 LEGO minifigures of iconic characters from the “Star Wars” franchise, including Luke Skywalker (a variation of both Jedi and Stormtrooper), Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, and two droid figures.
