Nestlé replaced the CEO after the investigation in an investigation that was allegedly not disclosed a romantic relationship.
Laurent Freixe, 63, was fired as CEO a year later. The company’s investigation found that direct subordinate relationships violated the Global Food brand’s code of conduct, Nestlé said in a news release on Monday, September 1.
“This was a necessary decision. Nestlé’s values and governance are a strong foundation for our company. We would like to thank you for your years of service at Nestlé,” Chairman Paul Brucke said in a news release.
Freixe was appointed CEO on September 1, 2024 to replace Mark Schneider. A French citizen, he joined Nestlé in sales and marketing in 1986.

Philipp Navratil has appointed the next CEO
Philip Navratil will soon take over as CEO of the new Nestle, the company announced September 1st.
After joining the company as an internal auditor in 2001, he later managed the Honduras division, overseeing the coffee and drink business in Mexico, leading the company’s Coffee Strategy Business Unit. He joined the company’s executive committee in early 2025.
“Philip is recognized for his impressive track record of achieving results in challenging environments. He is renowned for his dynamic presence and will inspire and lead the team with a collaborative, comprehensive management style. We are confident that the board will drive our growth plans and accelerate our efficiency efforts,” Schneider said in a news release.
