Karol G made history at the 25th Latin Grammy Awards in Miami, becoming the first woman to win back-to-back awards for Best Urban Album.
Who will win Album of the Year at the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards?
The past year has seen a slew of unskippable albums from some of the biggest names in Latin music, making for some stiff competition at the Nov. 13 awards ceremony.
Bad Bunny set the tone for 2025 with the release of his sixth studio album, Devi Tilal Mas Fotos, in January. Rau Alejandro ended 2024 with a new era of “Cosa Nuestra”. Recording Academy darling Natalia Lafourcade has released a deeply personal album, Cancionera. And ahead of the summer, Karol G marks a new chapter in his career with Tropicoceta.
In terms of who has the most nominations at this year’s ceremony, it’s Bad Bunny, who won a total of 12 nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Baile Inolvidable” and “DTMF.”
Other stars vying for the golden gramophone alongside Bad Bunny include Argentinian hip-hop duo CA7RIEL and Paco Amoroso, and Latin icons Alejandro Sanz and Gloria Estefan. Sanz and Estefan are also in the running for album of the year.
Mexican music group Fuerza Rezida has also been nominated and could become the first Latin Grammy winner this year.
Not among the notable candidates is Peso Pluma, the breakout Mexican local star who released Éxodo last June during the eligibility period from June 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025. At last year’s awards ceremony, it was nominated in two categories, including Record of the Year.
Follow the night’s big winners.
