Road Kill Night Video
The race car zooms as the audience brings Joyride in downtown Pontiac, Michigan.
- The mechanical bull ride for “Bucking Hemi” was part of this year’s Road Kill Night in Pontiac, Michigan.
- Road Kill Night is billed as a legal street drag race event.
Lamb’s less subtle “Backing Hemi” appears to have simply been on a road trip.
The Stellantis brand refers to a contractor’s mistake over the disappearance of mechanical bull ride covers following this year’s Road Kill Night Legal Street Drag Race event in Pontiac, Michigan. The situation led to an annoyed response from the Oakland County sheriff, who was frustrated with what he described as a waste of his investigation time.
“After 67 hours of uncertainty and a 1,200-mile round trip from North Carolina, Bucking Hemi has returned, which was mistakenly taken by one of the show contactors who recognized the error after media reports sparked their attention,” said Thursday, August 14th.
Lamb officials had taken him to social media two days ago to say that the backing hemi V8 had been stolen and had asked anyone with information to reach out.
“Last time I saw it: Roadkill night at Semigan, August 9, 2010, at 9:45pm (East US)”
It prompted a pouring of colorful responses from the brand’s followers.
In a news release, the company said the discovery of a $34,000 cover for Mechanical Bull, part of a marketing campaign for the return of the well-known HemiV8 engine, was made when the show was being demolished.
However, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said deputies later determined that theft had not occurred and officials would consider whether charges relating to the filing of the police report could be guaranteed.
“The company has never actually lost a bull,” Bouchard said in a news release. “I think this is a hugely frustrating and a huge waste of valuable research time.”
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Stephen Hoover said on Friday, August 15th that the sheriff said the incident was under investigation.
In their statement regarding the recovery of Backing Hemi, company officials have chosen the Sheriff’s Office for praise.
“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who worked to gather behind us and bring Ram Backing Hemi home.
