The Southern California lucky lottery player has won the first top prize of a scratch lottery ticket to celebrate the game’s 40th anniversary, California lottery officials said Wednesday.

According to a news release from the California lottery, tickets worth around $15 million were sold to Israel Martin Rodriguez in February.

While Rodriguez was awarded the Grand Prize, the 7-Eleven store, where winning tickets were sold, also received a $75,000 bonus.

According to the California lottery, not long after Rodriguez celebrated his victory, another top prize from the same Scralder game was sold. The lottery said it would release the winner’s name and the location where the tickets were sold immediately.

The game originally featured five grand prize scars, according to the California lottery, and the game has three remaining grand prizes remaining. The game also offers prizes of $100,000, $40,000 and $10,000, and prizes.

On January 20th, California Lottery released a scratcher game with a 40th anniversary theme called “40 Years of Play!” The lottery said it was created in honor of 2025 as its 40th year since voters created the California lottery, and boasts a $40-$15 million award. The overall odds for the victory are less than a third.
