Pac-Man’s anniversary is May 22nd, and Krispy Kreme celebrates this year with a sweet deal for its customers.
The donut chain is buying any dozen at the regular price on the day, offering it to customers for just 25 cents, for just 25 cents, the company said in a news release earlier this month.
Additionally, the chain has announced a collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment America, which celebrates the 45th anniversary of the iconic game with its new donut collection.
Available for a limited time at Krispy Kreme Shops, which has been participating since May 12th, the Krispy Kreme X Pac-Man collection features three new donuts in a custom Pac-Man game dozen box.
Which donuts do the Krispy Kreme Pac-Man collaboration include?
Three new flavors include:
- Pac-Man Party Donuts: It was a original glass-covered donut piped with yellow buttercream-flavored icing, sprinkled with festive sprinkles and topped with Pac-Man pieces.
- Team Ghost Donut: Glassless shell donut filled with chocolate-flavored cream, soaked in black icing, decorated the Pac-Man maze and topped with Team Ghost pieces.
- Strawberry Power Berry Dounut: Glassless shell donut filled with strawberry-flavored cream, soaked in red icing and topped with white sprinkles and green leaf icing.
Krispy Kreme Pac-Man Donut is “Sweetest in Multiplayer Mode”
This collection is available individually and by dozens of people, both in-store and for pick-up or distribution via the Krispy Kreme app and website. Customers can also get donuts in Krispy Kreme 6 Pack Boxes delivered freshly every day.
“These all-new Pac-Man Donuts are the sweetest in multiplayer mode. So, starting dozens of mazes in flavour mazes with family, friends and colleagues, said Dave Skenna, chief growth officer of Krispy Kreme, in a news release earlier this month. “The partnership with Bandai Namco and Pac-Man is the sweetness of the new score.”
“This year is an incredible milestone as we celebrate Pac-Man’s legacy and his 45 years of impact,” Karim Farghaly, senior vice president of business innovation and licensing at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., said in a news release. “We are excited to partner with another beloved iconic brand, Krispy Kreme, to provide a sweet experience for fans to enjoy in time for Pac-Man Day.”
The original strawberry glazed donut is back
As part of the Pac-Man celebration, Krispy Kreme announced on May 20th that it will be reviving its popular Strawberry original glaze doughnuts from Friday, May 30th to Sunday, June 1st.
“Fans unleashed the return of their fans’ favorite strawberry glazed donuts by allowing Krispy Kreme to achieve a ‘high score’ of handing out 45,000 free original glaze donuts during hot hours from May 12-18,” the company said in a news release.
The Strawberry Glazed Donut was introduced in 2020 and last offered in August 2023. This marks the fourth time Krispy Kreme has offered a donut. This is characterized by a “vivid strawberry glaze with a sweet strawberry flavor.”
Special donuts are available in-store and for pick-up or delivery via the website in the Krispy Kreme app and participating shops. Customers can get just $5 for just $5 when they buy a dozen at a regular price from May 30th to June 1st.
