The autism debate is still growing

The debate over the rise of autism in young people reached the highest level of government as President Donald Trump and his health secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., announced a drastic campaign to understand the environmental links to neurodevelopmental disorders, urging pregnant women to avoid Tylenol as acetamino fans could become one of those links. Although Kamboo, the maker of Tylenol, opposed the claim, research from around the world has landed on both sides of possible connections. Results from the scientific community: While various factors are related to autism, genetics and others, science has not identified the cause.

Macron of France wants the right to the road

Emmanuel Macron has firsthand found what New York City drivers, let alone Washington, DC. For a UN General Assembly gathering, the French president of New York finds himself stuck in the gridlock to give way to President Trump’s convoy. In a widely shared video, Macron asks the police to pass before the motorcade arrives, but the officer politely responds: sorry. Therefore, Macron is doing what a valuable few people in similar jam can do. He calls the president himself. “Hey, how are you?” he says. “What do you guess? I’m waiting on the street as everything is frozen for you.” In the end, he walked the rest of the way.

Utah has a rich candy craving

Halloween is over a month away, but I don’t know that from the candies that have already filled the shelves in the store. So, Instacart has been reviewing orders since October last year to see what they’re filling up bags from trick-or-treater across the country this year. Among its discoveries, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup is Halloween’s biggest national favorite, followed by Peanut M&M and Kit Kat Bar. Candy corn works well in the Midwest and South, with the northeastern being particularly sweet with sour patch kids. Utah claimed the country’s largest sweet tooth, with 50% more candy orders than the national average, and sweets were the least in the coastal cart: Hawaii, Florida, California.

Jimmy Kimmel defends freedom of speech for an emotional return

Jimmy Kimmel made a powerful defense of free speech and tearfully said he had no intention of revealing the murder of Charlie Kirk.

Jimmy Kimmel in tears returns to the TV stage

Jimmy Kimmel returned to the air almost a week after ABC paused the late-night show, offering his comments on the emotional monologues touching on free speech, the support he received, and the murder of Charlie Kirk, who sparked the controversy. “It was never my intention to underestimate the murder of a young man,” he said in tears. “I wasn’t going to blame any particular group either,” he thanked his fellow late-night television hosts, ABC, and even the enemies who spoke for him. However, he targeted his nemesis, President Trump, and aired a clip of him declaring Kimmel “no rating.” “Well,” Kimmel said, “I’ll do it tonight.”

Balls and strikes are automatically corrected

Imagine a ball player facing his nose and discussing the ball and strike with a robot. That could be the future that continues now, as Major League Baseball officially adopts the 2026 automatic strike zone challenge. An automated ball strike system, or ABS, allows batters, pitchers or catchers to tap their helmets to challenge their phone twice in the game. This is the first time in baseball that the referee hasn’t had a final word on every pitch. As for players, they say they don’t particularly care about the system, but there’s no final call here either. – Edited and written by Robert Abitbol
