While many aspiring lawyers celebrated their California bar exam results on Saturday, Nov. 8, others, including featured attorney Kim Kardashian, learned some disappointing news.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star revealed on social media that she failed the infamous exam required to qualify as a state bar after starting her legal career six years ago. She said she has no intention of quitting and is determined to take the test again until she passes.

“Well…I’m not a lawyer yet. I just play a well-dressed lawyer on TV,” he admitted of his new role in Ryan Murphy’s under-appreciated series “All’s Fair.” “I’m still giving it my all until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up. Just learning more and being more determined.”

She continued: “Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me so far. Failing is not failure, it’s energy. I was so close to passing the exam, and that motivated me even more. Let’s go!”

Widely considered one of the most difficult bar exams in the country, only 53.8% of test takers passed the previous California state exams, held in July 2024 and February 2024, according to the California Bar.

The next bar exam is not scheduled until February 2026, and the next one is July 2026. Results will be announced in May and November respectively.

How many bars has Kim Kardashian had?

Kardashian has only taken the California bar exam once, in July 2025.

She passed the “baby bar,” officially known as the California First-Year Law Student Examination, in late 2021 after failing three times in two years.

When did Kim graduate from law school?

Kardashian graduated from law school in May, following in the footsteps of her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who served as a defense attorney in the highly publicized murder trial of former NFL player O.J. Simpson.

“After 6 years, I finally graduated from law school!!!” Kardashian wrote on her Instagram Story on May 21st.

Prior to founding the law school, SKIMS founders were already leveraging their platforms to pursue criminal justice reform. In June 2018, during her first term in the White House, she met with President Donald Trump and pardoned Alice Marie Johnson, who was serving a life sentence for cocaine trafficking.
