The internet creates a jingle after Dr Pepper’s viral ad
Social media users are creating jingles for their favorite brands after TikTok went viral after being used in an official Dr Pepper commercial.
Introducing Dr. Pepper flavored sausage.
Johnsonville, “America’s favorite sausage,” and Keurig Dr. Pepper have teamed up to launch “Foam Grizzy.”
“Is it a culinary innovation or a sign of the apocalypse?” the Sheboygan Falls, Wis.-based national sausage brand said in a Feb. 25 press release. “That discussion has already begun, but one thing is for sure: people are talking and the United States is ready to add its bite to it.”
Johnsonville says the sausage is inspired by Keurig Dr. Pepper’s original 23-flavor blend.
Johnsonville worked closely with Dr. Pepper to bring the soda’s unique flavor to its venerable sausage. The idea was inspired by the brand’s long-standing role as an essential ingredient in seasoning and marinating meats.
“Johnsonville and Dr. Pepper are built for hangouts, and our data continues to show that people are connecting less,” Jamie Schmelzer, Johnsonville’s vice president of marketing, said in a statement. “So we got together and created something fun, unexpected, and maybe delicious?”
“Reaction to the idea of soda-flavored sausage has been a little polarized, but we’re hoping people will come together and try it and tell us what they think, whether they like it or not,” Schmelzer added.
Johnsonville and Keurig Dr. Pepper link up for “fizzy gizzy”
From Walmart to 7-Eleven, Johnsonville’s Dr. Pepper-style sausage will be on retail shelves (and roller grills) nationwide starting Sunday, March 1st.
Johnsonville’s Dr Pepper-style sausages are available in “fully cooked and uncooked varieties” and “enhance the richness of Johnsonville’s signature sausage, offering a nuanced sweet-salty or SWALTY-like finish.”
Johnsonville said the release of the Dr. Pepper-inspired sausage builds on the momentum of the brand’s Keep It Juicy platform, which was launched in 2024 to “win a sense of togetherness.”
