Jiva Organic Ground Cinnamon added to FDA alerts over lead concerns

In an updated alert, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that another ground cinnamon product is falling into a public health warning because it may contain leads.

FDA Issuing a new warning to Jiva Organic Ground Cinnamon and states it It includes increased lead levels. Exposure to products may be unsafe, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the FDA. The FDA updated alerts issued in the summer of 2024 to include additional products.

Recent research Found lead in food and certain cooking items pThere is a risk for people and families. Any amount of lead can cause health problems, especially whether a child breathes or takes it, but very high lead levels can cause seizures, coma, or death.

As of Friday, September 12th, the date of the FDA alert, there were no confirmed reports of damage or side effects caused by the recalled product.

This product has the highest date for July 2025.

The recalled Jiva Organic Ground Cinnamon was distributed by Spicey World of USA and sold at Taj supermarkets, according to an FDA alert.

According to the supermarket website, the store is located in Sacramento, California.
