Justice Department announces release of 3 million Epstein file pages
The Justice Department announced it has released 3 million redacted pages of Epstein’s files.
The millions of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, released by the Justice Department on January 30, include multiple emails believed to have been exchanged between Epstein and New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch.
The release includes 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, as well as various redacted and unredacted emails, letters, and other documents related to Epstein.
As first reported by a reporter for The Athletic, the emails show Epstein provided “scouting reports” about multiple women to Steve Tisch’s account (email addresses redacted), asking whether various women were “professionals,” “working girls,” or “civilians,” in emails reviewed by The Athletic and USA TODAY.
Messages exchanged between the two accounts include Epstein promising to “invite the (redacted) Russian if you like,” to which he responded, “Is she having fun?”
In another exchange, Tish asked, “I’m interested in (redacted). I’ll contact (redacted). Professional or civilian?” Later in the string, the same account says, “I don’t like the recording of these conversations so please send me a number to call.”
During the exchange, Epstein made various lewd references to the women’s bodies. Other email strings show Tisch’s account asking for details about a particular woman he met in New York.
Emails included in the Jan. 30 release also show Epstein contacting women to gauge their interest in meeting with Tisch.
Emails sent in 2013 also included an invitation from Tisch to Epstein to attend a Giants game in his suite. Emails exchanged between the accounts also included various attempts by the two to connect in New York, including an invitation to go for a walk or meet for lunch.
Tisch, 76, has been the Giants’ chairman and co-owner since 2005. The famous film producer has been involved in numerous Hollywood hits, including “Forest Gump” and “Risky Business.”
USA TODAY was unable to reach Tisch or representatives for the New York Giants for comment.
Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
