buy a new jeep with monopoly money
Jeep’s new promotion gives you $500 off a 2025 Grand Cherokee when you come to the store with Monopoly money. Seriously.
- Buyers can use Monopoly bills to get $500 off the price of a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
- This promotional deal coincides with the popular partnership between Monopoly and McDonald’s.
- Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf said the idea for the campaign was initially laughed at, but the company has since stepped up its game.
Start building the little red hotel and tell grandma to pay. You can turn your play money into real money by taking your Monopoly winnings to a Jeep dealer.
Jeep and Hasbro are running a unique promotional deal, offering customers the chance to bring $500 worth of Monopoly Money (yes, those little colorful bills that can make or break your family game night) to a dealer in exchange for R$500 off the list price of a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Jeep is part of a high-level brand agreement between Hasbro (Monopoly’s parent company) and McDonald’s that launched the popular McDonald’s Monopoly game, where customers win prizes by peeling off stickers from cups and french fry sleeves.
In addition to the Monopoly Money Promotion, 10 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4s will be given away as prizes hidden inside Monopoly McDonald’s game stickers.
Mark Etchells, general sales manager for Westbourne Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram, said customers are putting their Monopoly funds to good use.
“Almost every Jeep we sold this week has this product,” Etchells said. “It’s a great deal at a time when prices are soaring.”
Etchells said the deal is fun, a little gimmicky, but ultimately a good program to help buyers get their hands on a car.
“Getting $500 more to buy a car is good for everyone,” Etchells said. “Any rebate is a great rebate.”
Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf, who helped plan the Monopoly Money promotion, said at a media event on October 7 that his family’s “ruthless” attitude toward Monopoly inspired him.
Broderdorf said that when he was young, he once played a board game with his uncle to get free train rides for life after his uncle threw him a life preserver and he fell off a boat.
“So Monopoly is kind of sacred in my house,” Broderdorf said.
When a partnership with Monopoly was first being discussed, Broderdorf said his idea of giving out real money in exchange for Monopoly money was laughed at until it doubled down.
“I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if I could actually gift Monopoly money into a car?'” he said. “They all started laughing. I was like, ‘No.’ I’m serious. ”’
Jeep says dealers will immediately return Monopoly play invoices so everyone can continue playing. The program will run until November 3rd.
