Instant chicken fried rice sold at Trader Joe’s stores across the United States will be recalled due to possible glass contamination, according to a notice shared on the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service website.
Ajinomoto Foods North America, an Oregon-based food manufacturer, notified FSIS after receiving complaints from customers.
A notice shared by FSIS on Feb. 19 said four customers reported finding glass in the product, but there were no confirmed reports of injuries.
“FSIS is concerned that some products may be in the freezers of retailers and consumers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them,” the notice reads. “These products should be discarded or returned to the place of purchase.”
The FSIS notice includes information about another recall, but does not detail how many pounds or units of rice were recalled from Trader Joe’s.
USA TODAY contacted Trader Joe’s on Feb. 20 but did not receive a response.
