After years of excuses, Instagram is finally available on the iPad.

As it could be the most anticipated app on Apple tablets, Meta released an Instagram app exclusive to the iPad on Wednesday. The much-anticipated app is now available for download on the App Store. Make the most of the bigger screen.

When you open the iPad app, you will be taken directly to the reel without having to go to another tab. Comments can be easily viewed while looking at the reel.

Additionally, Instagram has launched its own “Follow” tab. This allows you to select content you want to view from your friends, all accounts you follow, or from the latest posts only.

“It’s an Instagram you love and now you have more space,” Instagram said in a blog post.

The debut of the Instagram iPad app: What took so long?

As Instagram competes with Archrival Tiktok and attention and ad dollars, a larger screen could potentially involve more users and engagement. So, what took so long?

Despite pleas from frustrated Apple Tablet users, he resigned to watching iPhone app reels and images on small, narrow displays and clunky web browsers, but the marriage comes 15 years after Instagram and iPad debuted.

The Facebook app has been featured on the iPad since 2011. Even WhatsApp got the iPad app earlier this year.

In explaining the monitoring of such visual social media apps, Meta insisted on limited resources and higher priorities.

In 2022, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri said that despite admitting it was a popular request, no one wanted a native Instagram app for Apple’s tablets.

“We get a lot of this,” Moseli said. “It’s not a group of people that’s big enough to become a priority yet. I’m hoping to get to that at some point, but now I’m very headed down to other things.”

A year later, he said: “I think it’s a good thing to do at some point. But there are only people who work on Instagram, so you always have to choose the most important thing to improve your Instagram.”

In a statement, Instagram is the way that most people use Instagram.

“We know people want the iPad app, and we’re excited to be able to build it in a way that really matches how the community uses Instagram,” the statement said.
