You’ve probably heard of Taco Tuesday. But what about pancakes on Tuesday?
IHOP is once again declaring the first Tuesday of March its own National Pancake Day, which means participating restaurants in the U.S. will be offering free short stacks of pancakes on March 3rd. Some other restaurants celebrate National Pancake Day on September 26th.
This year marks IHOP’s 21st anniversary of National Pancake Day. The breakfast chain launched the promotion as a way to raise money for charity, encouraging diners to donate to Feeding America. The company says every dollar donated at IHOP restaurants on March 3 will provide at least 10 meals to local Feeding America Partner Food Banks.
How to get free pancakes at IHOP on March 3rd
On Tuesday, March 3, participating IHOP restaurants will be giving away a free short stack of three buttermilk pancakes to customers who dine in from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. No minimum purchase amount required.
You can find your nearest IHOP store using the chain’s store locator. The company has approximately 1,800 locations worldwide, including all 50 states, two territories and 13 other countries.
IHOP encourages people to gather with friends for free pancakes and post “intentionally DIY-style fliers” to attract young people to the promotion.
“This National Pancake Day, we want IHOP to feel like more than just a restaurant,” said Lena Yamamichi, IHOP’s vice president of brand and creative, in a news release. “We’re getting creative and flipping the narrative, turning IHOP into the go-to meetup spot to get a free short stack, sit in a booth, and turn a quick meal into quality time. There’s no planning, no pressure, because pancakes taste better when the table is full.”
Free pancakes at Mr. Fantasy in LA
In Los Angeles, IHOP is teaming up with viral personality Mr. Fantasy to host a Pancake Meetup at Hollywood Restaurant, 7006 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM PT.
“Connecting people of all shapes and forms is essential to my mission on this giant rotating marble called Earth. I can’t wait to meet and share some fluffy goodness,” Fantasy said in a news release. “Because, again, there’s nothing like pancakes with the people you love. I love you.”
