The day has come for Chili’s Skillet Beef Queso to officially return to restaurants after a two-month hiatus.
The move comes after fans expressed disappointment when Chili’s replaced its longtime cheese appetizer with a new recipe in October. But on Tuesday, Dec. 9, Skiler Beef Queso is back.
Chili’s first teased the return of the popular dip on social media in late October, just weeks after announcing a new Southwest Queso to replace Skillet Beef and White Queso on the menu.
Now, the chain is celebrating the return of Skillet Queso with a commemorative trucker hat. The lime green cap is emblazoned with the words, “I Survived the Chili Skillet Queso Situation October 2025.” Fans have a chance to win hats through social media giveaways.
For returning Skillet Queso fans, here’s how to get your hands on Chili’s new commemorative hat.
How can I get the limited edition Chili hat?
There are multiple ways to enter to win a new Chilean commemorative trucker hat:

According to the official giveaway rules, entries are limited to 5 comments and 1 retweet, share, or save per social media user per platform, with a maximum of 6 entries per platform.
People have already started commenting on Chili’s social media posts showing why the limited edition hat is worth buying. “I loved it so much that I put it on my calendar at work and will be ordering it the day I get back. I’ve gotten so many messages saying they’re so excited!!” one Instagram commenter wrote.
“I was one of the frontrunners who insisted in every post to return this product. I believe I deserve the hat. I’ve been a loyal Chili’s customer for 23 years and have ordered Skillet Queso hundreds of times. This is the best appetizer I’ve ever had. Please Chili’s, I implore you to take the hat off to me,” another Instagram user commented on the restaurant chain’s post.
On TikTok, users posted similar messages of excitement. One TikTok user commented, “I was there the day the music went out, and tonight I’ll be there again to enjoy the most goaty appetizer ever. I’ve been trying for 25 years. I love chili. And while I’m at it, I miss the broccoli cheese soup.”
What is the giveaway schedule?
The giveaway entry period will begin on Monday, December 8th at 12:01am ET and end on December 15th at 11:59pm ET.
According to Chile’s social media accounts, 450 hats will be given away.
