President Donald Trump’s support among Americans has fallen to nearly record low in the new national survey released in the last 30 days, which Trump gave him a low mark.

A Pew Research Center survey found that the president has dropped three points over the past two months, with a 38% approval rate, nine points from the early February vote. Over half (60%) say they disapprove of his work performance. Pew pollers believe it will decline to “a combination of decline in approval among 2024 supporters and adults who didn’t vote in November.”

The Pew survey was conducted on August 4-10 of 3,554 adults with an error of ±1.8 percentage points.

This is the latest in a series of national surveys released in the past month that gave Trump’s record numbers, following a 37% approval from the Gallup vote on July 7-21 and a 40% approval rate from the Reuters/ISPO vote at the end of the month. Gallup’s historical analysis shows that Trump’s first July approval rating for both conditions is lower than that of other modern presidents.

Recent approval voting aggregations from the New York Times and RealClearpolitics have disapproved by 53% and 51% as of August 14, with Trump’s approvals from 44% to 45%, respectively.

Here is a summary of other recent polls:

YouGov/Economist Poll

  • 42% will approve
  • 54% disapproved

More than half of those surveyed said in a YouGov/Economist poll that the country is on the wrong track and is unhappy with how American democracy works.

When asked about Texas’s constituency change crisis, opinions were also low when it plagued the Lone Star nation for nearly two weeks and sparked competition between Democrats and Republicans in other states to redraw their own congressional maps. Over 2/3, the response was more mixed when asked if another party should be allowed to redraw their maps, although they said that partisan gerrymandering should not be allowed. Another 36% said they were unsure.

The vote took place between 1,635 US adults from August 9th to 11th. There is an error of ±3.5 percentage points.

Morning polls

  • 45% will approve
  • 51% disapproved

Trump’s approval rate remains low in the second term in the morning consultation survey, following similar figures from the previous week. However, there was a slight increase in economic approval, with voters disapproving Trump’s economic handling and trade with a 1-point margin.

The vote took place between August 8th and 10th among 2,200 registered US voters. There is an error of ±2 percentage points.

CNBC Voting

  • 46% will approve
  • 51% disapproved

Of the seven issues, Trump’s handling of inflation and cost of living received the lowest ratings in the poll. 37% were approved, and 60% have changed since the April survey, falling five points from the start of the year.

Opinions on tax and federal spending were also underwater, with 40% and 38% approvals, respectively, followed by 41% approvals on the president’s foreign policy. Trump’s position on the southern border with Mexico was the most popular in the survey, collecting 53% positive responses, but deportation and tariffs reached a majority threshing with approval of 49% and 45% respectively.

The vote was conducted by Hart Research Associates/Public Opinion Strategies from July 29th to August. Three out of three adults. There is an error of ±3.1 percentage points.
