Is Trump a Hugger? Kids ask difficult questions at White House briefings.
The White House welcomed the children of reporters who comprised the White House press squad and White House staff in the press briefing room.
WASHINGTON – The kids took over a briefing at the White House press conference – and they asked what was in everyone’s minds.
Does President Donald Trump like to hug him?
“Yes, I think he likes to hug him,” replied White House press secretary Currylyn Leavitt.
What is his favorite food? “He likes to eat big, beautiful steaks,” Levitt said.
This opportunity was to “take my son and daughter on work day.” To celebrate the event sooner or later, the White House welcomed the children of reporters who made up the White House press squad and White House staff in the press briefing room on May 20th. Levitt brought her boy.
Young children were usually occupied by moms and dads and demanding answers. Trump’s favorite ice cream (Chocolate Sauce and Toppin’s Ice Cream Sunday) and his favorite president (George Washington, Lewitt wasn’t 100% sure, but not 100% sure)
But one child reporter said, “How many people did he fire?” the girl, perhaps about four years old, was asked from the front row.
Levit laughed, “So far, no one has been fired, except for one individual who has quit his job, but there’s a great team here. So far, it’s really good.”
Leavitt did not specify who she was referring to. Perhaps she meant Mike Waltz, Trump’s former national security adviser. He left his position on May 1st.
Of course, Trump gained a reputation for quickly firing White House aides during his first term. Before that, during his run on NBC’s “The Apprentice,” it was “you were fired.”
And since returning to the White House, Trump has Rum, who has been abused by federal workers.
For the first four months of his second term, the Trump administration, with the help of Elon Musk’s government efficiency, fired tens of thousands of employees from federal workers, and even more employees chose to step down from more acquisitions.
The White House did not say how many federal workers have been fired through Doge Cuts. But an analysis from Reuters shows that the Trump administration cut 12% of its 2.3 million federal private workers, and about 260,000 people have left their acquisitions or other incentives.
Among other questions at the briefing, one child asked what “superpower” Trump hopes he has.
“It’s just about snapping his fingers and solving all the problems in our country – just like that,” Levitt said. “Because he likes to get things done so quickly.”
The boy wanted to know how much candy Trump eats a day. “A fair amount of candy,” Levitt said. “He likes pink starburst and Toocy rolls.”
However, there was one question that Leavitt struggled to respond with one answer.
“What’s your least favorite news outlet?” asked the boy.
Leavitt looked down at her lecture and laughed. “You can say you’re a staff child, not a journalist child,” she added with a smile. “To be honest, it depends on the day.”
