29 defective stores will be closed at home
At home, furniture and home decor retailers have closed 29 “low-performing” stores by the end of September as part of their bankruptcy proceedings.
No Brands – News Value
After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June, most of the previously announced store closures at home have been completed, but a few locations are expected to close next month.
According to court documents, the Coppel, Texas-based furniture and home decor retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy due to wide economic and retail-specific market pressures. As part of the bankruptcy process, the company tapped 31 stores to close.
The majority of the closure was scheduled to occur by September 30th, but it is set to have three people occur by October 25th, based on court filings obtained by USA Today. However, many of the places of destiny have already been closed.
Store closures arise amidst the economic outlook and issues of other large stores, including Big Lot, Joan Fabric, Coles, Jcpenney, Macy’s and Party City.
