Underrated MLB Draft prospects in 2025 should not be overlooked
Jackson Fuller from Southwest Times Record will destroy Dark-Horse 2025 MLB Draft prospects, including LSU’s Anthony Eyanson and South Carolina’s Ethan Petry.
LOS ANGELES – Clayton Car Show joined the luxury club.
The longtime Los Angeles Dodger Ace is the 20th pitcher in baseball history and hits 3,000 batters.
The 37-year-old left-handed Kershaw reached the milestone when he attacked Vinny Capra of the Chicago White Sox at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday, July 2nd.
Kershaw, a 10-time All-Star and three-time Cy Young winner, took part in the game with 2,997 strikeouts. Kershaw did not register a strikeout in the first two innings, but Miguel Vargas swinged on the first out of the third. However, Kershaw struggled in the first three innings and gave up four runs, including a third Austin Slater two-run homer.
He didn’t attack anyone even in the fourth innings. He headed fifth on the 80th pitch and added drama to what was expected to be a Corner crown.
Kershaw finished fifth with the strikeout No. 2,999, but on the 92 pitch. Manager Dave Roberts sent back the Car Show for the sixth time. With two outs after 3 base hand Max Mancy was injured by applying a tag on 3 base, Kershaw hit Vinny Capra looking for a magical 3,000.
He will become the fourth left-handed pitcher to join the 3,000 strikeout club, joining Steve Carlton, Randy Johnson and CC Sabathia. Kershaw is the second player to follow in the footsteps of Walter Johnson and Bob Gibson and achieve all the feats at one club.
Kershaw gave up four runs in six innings and took 3,000th place on his 100th night. He was on the hook for loss until the Dodgers gathered to win a walk-off single from Freddie Freeman in the ninth bottom.
On May 25, 2008, Kershaw hit his first batter as a 20-year-old rookie made his major league debut with the Dodgers. As his 18-year career unfolded, strikeouts began to pile up.
He led the National League three times – in 2011, 2013 and 2015, and recorded a career-high 301 in 2015.
Nolan Ryan holds the highest record ever with 5,714 strikeouts.
Before the creation of the Carshow history began, Roberts said the club’s icon had this milestone in mind when he decided to return to his 18th season.
“He loves to compete,” Roberts said. “I certainly want to see it all the way through October. …I think it’s important to be able to come back and go out on essentially his own terms, and I don’t think many people will get the opportunity.”
Roberts said: “It’s the last box where Clayton checks in his incredible career.”
There are no penalties or complaints for delays in this game. The Dodgers paused the action minutes after Kershaw recorded a strikeout No. 3,000. After joining his teammate in the dugout, Kershaw returned to the field and admitted the cheering fans.
He also pointed out the family as the videoboard congratulated the Car Show on “3,000 strikeouts.”
The Kershaw was swinging with Renin Sosa to finish the scoreless five innings with strikeout No. 2,999, but it went 92 pitches in five innings. Will Dave Roberts send him back to start sixth?
The White Sox are not cooperating For the car show
It’s dimly limp that Kershaw is notching his 3,000th strikeout tonight. He only needs two, but he has already pitched 80 pitches in four innings and the White Sox have not cooperated.
Fourth, he scored two counts for the night, the White Sox rejected whim. They also couldn’t get a hit or run, but kept the Dodgers’ 4-2 lead.
Car Show Notch is Strikeout No. 2,998
Don’t mind the Kersho who gave up a 2-run homer to Austin Slater to lift the White Sox to 3-2. The Dodgers crowd cried out as Kershaw hit his next batter, Michael Vargas, in No. 2,998.
Kershaw gave up a total of three runs and four hits before breaking out of the innings. The game heads towards the third bottom, with the White Sox leading 4-2, and Kershaw needs another 3 pitches on two pitches.
This is beginning to feel like one of the obstacles of the Car Show postseason.
The car show calms down Second: No strikeouts yet
After struggling in the first innings, Kershaw retiring White Sox players in two innings in turn, but not a strikeout. Kershaw trampled on Vinny Capra for short to end the frame.
Kershaw escaped from the innings on 10 pitches, increasing to a total of 39 in two innings.
Clayton Car Show heads to Rocky Start It remains at 2,997
Clayton Kershaw worked throughout the first innings that ended without a strikeout, and he reassured his forehead.
He faced six White Sox batters and gave up on running with three hits. The Dodgers sealed damage in a left Fielder, leaving Fielder Michael Comfort, when he made a jumping catch on the wall for a third out. Kershaw pitched 29 pitches and Route 19 in the first innings.
Catcher Will Smith hit a home run at the first bottom to tie the game together.
Clayton Kershaw is the best Dodgers pitcher Until now?
Before the game, Roberts was asked whether Kershaw was the greatest pitcher in Dodgers history. In other words, is Kershaw better than the Dodgers pitching legendary Sandy Koufax and Don Dorisdale?
“It’s tough,” Roberts says, indicating that he didn’t compare the performance of the three pitchers. However, he referenced Kershaw’s 18-year career.
“As long as you’re talking about the body of work, it’s hard not to say that Clayton is the greatest Dodger (pitcher) ever. …Yeah, he’s a unicorn.”
The Cardinals did not have tapes of a 20-year-old child scheduled to make their major league debut on May 25, 2008. No one had a scouting report. None of the minors faced him. So they began to ask each other if anyone knew anything about the Dodgers’ valuable outlook.
Skip Schumaker led for the Cardinals and stepped into the plate with a game plan.
“I thought I was going to ambush him and welcome him into the big leagues,” Shumaker told USA Today Sports. “The first pitch was a heightened fastball. It was more difficult and faster than I thought, I shaking and missed. Then he threw a curveball, which was different.
“And well, I hit it out.”
Schmaker finished his career with the Carshow 0-7 with six strikeouts and grounded a double play.
“Clayton Kershaw is “the most dominant pitcher I’ve ever played in my career. I’ve never seen anyone like him,” says Schmaker.
