Applications are now being accepted to drive Oscar Mayer’s most themed vehicles.
Recent college graduates are invited to apply through Saturday, Jan. 31, to join the U.S. meat and cold cuts producer’s next class of hot doggers, a “one-year, full-time adventure,” Oscar Mayer said in a Dec. 8 press release.
Established in 1988, the Hot Dogger program was created to mentor young talent and develop future leaders who “embody innovation, creativity and community spirit,” the brand said.
“This exciting position offers fans the opportunity to become official spokespeople for the brand and fulfill its mission of bringing smiles to the nation,” added Oscar Mayer.
Here’s what you need to know about the gig.
What does a “hot dogger” do?
Each member of Oscar Meyer’s 39th batch of Hot Doggers is expected to drive and maintain a “27-foot-long hot dog on wheels” during a year-long transcontinental road trip.
The Hot Doggers will also serve as brand ambassadors, traveling to “more than 30 states” on behalf of Oscar Mayer, attending hundreds of events a year, and developing custom content.
According to job postings from the Kraft Heinz Company, participants in the Hot Dogger program earn a base salary of $35,600, with a weekly stipend of $150 for meals and personal travel.
Additional resources include a complete health benefits package, 18 days of paid time off, and 100% of hotel costs.
How to apply
Only 12 superfans will be chosen to join Oscar Mayer’s 39th Hot Dogger and celebrate the Vienna Mobile’s 90th anniversary.
According to Oscar Mayer, the ideal applicant has good communication skills and preferably a bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, advertising or marketing. If you love hot dog puns, we also welcome you.
