From Han Solo to Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford has given us a career full of iconic characters, and his fellow actors are celebrating his legendary achievements.
The 83-year-old “Star Wars” star will receive the SAG-AFTRA Lifetime Achievement Award at the 32nd Annual Actors Awards (formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards). Ford will be celebrated in a March 1 ceremony that will be livestreamed on Netflix.
Mr. Ford said in a statement that he was “deeply honored” by the selection. “It means a lot to me to be recognized by my fellow actors. I’ve spent most of my life on movie sets, working with amazing actors and crew, and I’ve always been grateful to be a part of this community,” he said.
Ford is the 61st SAG-AFTRA Lifetime Achievement recipient, joining recent recipients such as Jane Fonda, Barbra Streisand, Sally Field, Helen Mirren and Robert De Niro.
“Harrison Ford is a unique figure in American life, an actor whose iconic character has shaped global culture,” said SAG-AFTRA Chairman Sean Astin. “His career was endlessly inspiring, always returning to his love of acting. We are honored to celebrate a legend who had an indelible impact on our art.”
In addition to “Star Wars,” Ford is the face of the “Indiana Jones” and “Blade Runner” film series, as well as the star of films such as “Witness,” “Air Force One,” “The Fugitive,” and “Presumed Innocent.” He was recently nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor at the 2025 SAG Awards for his role in the comedy series “Shrinking.”
He has also collected numerous prestigious statues, including the 2000 AFI Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2024 Critics Choice Career Achievement Award, the 2002 Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award, and was named a Disney Legend in 2024.
