Military equipment heading to DC ahead of Trump’s birthday parade
Combat tanks, combat vehicles and infantry airlines have departed Texas for DC for President Trump’s military parade.
Tanks, armored vehicles and thousands of soldiers march through the streets of Washington, DC, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Army in a massive, expensive and controversial military parade on June 14th.
Helicopters and World War I Era fighters fly overhead, with Army paracomists soaring into the White House oval, where Trump presides a parade from the presidential booth. A day-long program of military organizational activities and music is scheduled before the parade begins at about 6:30pm
Critics say the $40 million parade represents an astounding politicization of the military, and is a creepy analogy to the military parade held by North Korea or Russia. Thousands of “kings” against Trump, the Parade and his ongoing immigrant crackdown are scheduled across the country.
The weather forecast predicts the possibility of a thunderstorm in the country’s capital on the evening of June 14th, but the Trump administration has not announced a contingency plan for the rainy parade.
Recruitment for the Army, 10% higher than the Trump Parade
Part of Saturday’s parade is bringing patriotic appeals to future soldiers after years of struggle to reach recruitment goals.
US military officials announced in the first week of June that the branch had achieved its recruitment target of 61,000 people per year. That’s about 10% higher than the 55,000 recruiting reported by the Army last year.
“This achievement represents an important turning point for the Army, indicating a new sense of patriotism and purpose among American youth,” the Army said in a June 3rd statement.
Army Secretary Dan Driscoll attributed it to Trump’s “decisive leader” and defense secretary Pete Hegses, while others are shining the spotlight on the future soldier preparation course, which was established in August 2022.
For example, former Army Secretary Christine Warms told The Associated Press that the program established under Biden could be responsible for a third of all recruitment this year.

Trump B-Day Parade, who doesn’t like the Army
As mentioned earlier, the Americas may not like the cost of Saturday’s parade, but I like the idea that multiples will hold it.
A new AP-NORC poll found 40% of US adults approved Trump’s decision, while 29% disapproved.
As you expected, Democrats and liberal Americans aren’t too excited about it. Research shows that only 20% have approved the president’s decision while 50% disapprove.
But it’s a hit between Republicans and conservatively conscious adults, with a whopping 67% giving Trump a favor, while who’s against it?
Among independents, 27% have approved and 19% have slightly favored parades over objects that are disapproved. The remaining 54% is not like either.

Whether or not you think of Saturday’s parade, there’s no doubt that DC Streets will feel the weight.
The Army has made special preparations to minimize damage to the roads as a large number of vehicles and artillery arrive through the country’s Capitol.
- M1A2/ABRAMS Tank: Perhaps the most impressive and scary weapon in the parade, or almost anywhere in the 70 tons, tanks entered the Army Service 45 years ago, first seeing combat in Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
- Striker car: Variations of these eight-wheeled armored vehicles can carry infantry, mortars, command posts and act as ambulances. The striker can carry up to 11 soldiers and reach speeds of 60 mph.
- AH-64 Apache: This attack helicopter cuts out a scary silhouette. It destroyed Iraqi radar facilities during the desert storm and provided air forces for convoys and troops on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Trump, the oldest president, is now 79 years old.
Saturday’s parade may draw attention to Trump being the oldest commander in US history.
Born on June 14, 1946, when Harry Truman was president, he set the record for the oldest person to take office in 78 years and seven months ahead of Joe Biden, who was 78 years and 2 months old, who took office in January 2021.
The age of American elected officials has recently become a topic of concern. This is mainly due to questions raised around Biden’s eyesight, which hit him for most of his term. The Democrats tried to do the same for Trump, such as when they mixed Japanese automotive company Nissan with Japanese steel company Japan last month.
“He’s not the same person I dealt with just four years ago, and he can’t even line up with thoughts,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom said of Trump in a recent interview.
But the story doesn’t stick to Trump. Trump is known to be ramblings in his public speeches, but he’s more active for the public than Biden did.

The weather forecast for Washington on the day of the parade shows that 83 degrees is 83 degrees, and the showers start in the morning and there may be a thunderstorm after 2pm local time.
Once the parade begins after 6pm, predictors will predict 75% precipitation and potential lightning.
The Army said on June 13 that the weather was “heavyly monitored and considered, but nothing has changed at this point.”
More than 1,800 “kings” for what Parade, Trump and what protesters call his authoritarian policies are planned in cities and towns around the world, but not Washington.
Trump first said on June 10 that the protest would be filled with “a huge force.” The White House retreated a few days later, and spokesman Caroline Leavbit said Trump was “of course” in support of peaceful protests.
Other protesters are keeping their plans in Washington on Parade Day, fearing crackdowns like the response to protests against widescale deportation in Los Angeles.
