An obscure social media post from GFUEL this week sparked concern that the brand loved by the gaming community was being shut down. But in the end, the company had announced a new formula.
“After shaking things, fueling them with crushing and rewriting the rules, that’s the end of the era,” Gfuel wrote in an X post on September 2nd.
A few days later, the Energy Drinks brand gave more insights and announced the launch of Formula 2.0, a new energy drink formula made with cleaner materials and more antioxidants.
“I said the end of the era, not the end of GFUEL,” Brand wrote in a September 4th post.
The new formulation is not GFUEL’s only announcement. The brand is also working with YouTuber Pewdiepie to release new Lingonberry-flavored energy drinks and powders. According to a GFUEL news release, the Pewdiepie Collector’s Box features 40 serving lingonberry energy tabs, a GFUEL Pewdiepie T-shirt and a custom-designed collector’s box. As of September 5th, Collector’s Box was not available for purchase on the GFUEL website. Lingonberry Energy Drink cans, powders and bars are also available for purchase separately.

What’s going on in GFUEL?
On September 4th, GFUEL announced Formula 2.0. This is a new formulation of popular energy drinks. Formula 2.0 is made with fillers that settle at the bottom of drinks, global or clean materials that prevent the powder from precipitating, says a GFUEL news release.
The new formula also contains L-theanine, a non-protein amino acid found primarily in green and black tea and some mushrooms. L-theanine is said to relieve anxiety and stress and reduce insomnia.
Formula 2.0 also contains more antioxidants. To be precise, it contains about 26 milligrams more.
