“Recently, we have a daily event that reminds us of the fact that we live through these particularly dangerous times,” Springsteen introduced the song. “I spent my life on the road. I’m moving around the world as an American music ambassador, trying to measure the distance between American reality and our ideals and American reality that didn’t meet American dreams.”

But “for now, for many, she remains a land of hope and dreams,” he added. “It’s not fear, schizophrenia, government censorship or hatred. America is worth fighting for, so it’s in that spirit.

The film’s New York premiere (October 24th theatre) comes two weeks after the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Jimmy Kimmel’s controversial remarks about Kirk’s murder have prompted ABC to temporarily suspend late-night television shows.

Springsteen told the audience to “stay strong” as he left the stage. The entire uplifting Alistair Hall at Lincoln Center.

Before the performance, Springsteen said, “I was grateful to White for putting my whole heart and soul into that part. You did an amazing job.

Cooper’s wife and children recalls “Bruce told me, ‘Scott, leave the hotel, take me to my house,” Cooper recalls. “We did that and we stayed there until we got up, because that’s Bruce Springsteen.
