Ford partners with Amazon to sell used cars
Ford is partnering with Amazon to enable franchised dealers to sell certified pre-owned vehicles online, helping shoppers secure financing.

Ford Motor Co., Ltd. will offer certified pre-owned vehicles to Amazon Auto starting November 17th.
The Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker said car buyers looking to buy used cars online can now visit Amazon Auto to shop, finance, purchase and schedule pickup of Ford Blue Advantage Certified Used vehicles from participating Ford dealers.
At launch, Ford Blue Advantage certified pre-owned vehicles will be available exclusively at Amazon Auto locations in Los Angeles, Seattle and Dallas, the company said. But Ford said it will expand further into the market in the coming months.
Ford spokesman Syed Deep did not have a timetable for when Detroit-area dealers would join, but said, “This is a voluntary program. More than 160 dealers across the country have expressed interest and have begun the process with Amazon. And some in Michigan have already signed up. As Amazon expands into additional markets, we expect more dealers will express interest in the program.”
The automaker said that by leveraging Amazon Autos to streamline the initial shopping and financing steps, it will free up time at the dealership and allow dealers to focus on building the in-person experience.
“We’re excited to support dealers as they launch Ford Blue Advantage vehicles on Amazon Auto,” Robert Kafle, Ford executive director of U.S. sales and dealer relations, said in a statement. “Amazon Autos enables Ford dealers to offer certified pre-owned vehicles through Amazon’s accessible digital platform while maintaining the benefits that customers enjoy from their relationship with a Ford dealer.”
Amazon Autos will start selling new Hyundai cars in December 2024. We have participating dealers in more than 130 cities across the United States. In August 2025, Amazon Auto announced that it would expand its services to include used and certified pre-owned vehicles from various brands.

How Amazon Autos works
The Amazon Autos storefront at www.amazon.com/amazon-autos connects customers with participating Ford dealers nationwide.
Ford says customers can browse Ford Blue Advantage certified pre-owned inventory at participating Ford dealers within a 75-mile radius of their home. Search for certified pre-owned vehicles by make, model, year, and color.
Each listing includes price, vehicle history and specs, and customers can compare shop from their computers or smartphones.
Once a customer has decided on a used vehicle, they can secure financing, start the paperwork and schedule a pickup time at a participating local Ford dealership.
Level of certification
All Ford Blue Advantage certified pre-owned vehicles come with a limited manufacturer warranty with warranty coverage based on certification type.
Ford offers three types of certifications.
- gold certified: These vehicles undergo a 172-point inspection and come with a 12-month/12,000-mile (whichever comes first) limited warranty covering over 1,000 components.
- EV certified: Electric vehicles undergo a 127-point inspection and have the same warranty coverage as Gold Certification.
- blue certified: These vehicles may include Ford and other brands and come with a 90-day/4,000-mile (whichever comes first) limited warranty.
Each tier comes with roadside assistance.
Ford says all Blue Advantage certified pre-owned vehicles sold on Amazon Auto are thoroughly inspected and come with a 14-day/1,000-mile money-back guarantee through Ford Blue Advantage if all eligibility requirements are met. Customers can also view service history and condition reports.
Each Ford-backed limited warranty covers parts such as the engine, battery, transmission and electrical system, but participating Ford dealers may also sell extended service plans, Ford said.
