Iowa is gearing up for another burger and craft beer restaurant to enter the state for the first time.
Ford Garage, a 1920s-themed restaurant chain inspired by the Ford Motor Company, is considering expanding into several Iowa cities as part of its latest expansion.
Where in Iowa could Ford’s Garage open a restaurant?
The restaurant chain was founded in Florida in 2012 and continues to expand across the United States, with 33 locations in eight states, according to a news release. The restaurant first opened in Fort Myers, Florida, less than a mile from Henry Ford’s winter home.
Ford Garage’s new deal, announced Jan. 27, paves the way for three Iowa restaurants to be owned by franchisee Mike Conasser and his Quad Assembly LLC.
Costner said he is considering restaurant locations in Des Moines, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and Davenport.
“I’m from Detroit, so Ford has always had a special place in my heart. The atmosphere, the quality of the food and the level of service at Ford’s Garage was really great,” Conatser said. “There’s nothing like it in Iowa, and we’re excited to bring something truly new and memorable to these communities.”
When will a Ford garage open in Iowa?
The deal includes a five-year timeline to open three restaurants, according to a news release. The first store is expected to open by January 2027.
The news release did not say which cities would get the restaurants first.
