Excerpts from the upcoming memoir of Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers, were released by CBS News on October 19th.

The published part of the memoir details a visit to the Louvre in 2021, when Giuffre was preparing to testify in a Paris court against French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel.

“For a while, everything went as I had imagined. I lost myself in larger-than-life bronze and marble sculptures, texting my husband pictures of the Four Prisoners, a quartet of shackled soldiers, and Hercules fighting an oversized snake,” the excerpt reads. “I walked up the stairs, turned a corner, and froze. I know this room, but a voice in my head screamed: I’ve been in this exact spot before, 20 years ago, when I was only 17.”

Giuffre, born Virginia Roberts, was one of the most outspoken of Epstein’s abuse accusers. She played a key role in the investigation, which ultimately led to criminal charges against the investor and his colleague, Ghislaine Maxwell.

She also filed a sexual abuse lawsuit against Prince Andrew in 2021, alleging that she was trafficked to members of the British royal family three times by Epstein around 2001 when she was a teenager. Andrew settled the lawsuit in 2022 and denied the charges.

On October 17, Buckingham Palace confirmed that Andrew would no longer use his royal title after he was stripped of his patronage and military status amid court action.

Giuffre died by suicide in 2024 near her home in Nealgabby, Australia. “Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice” is scheduled for release on October 21st.

Co-author says Maxwell should not be pardoned

In an interview with “CBS Sunday Morning” accompanying the release of the excerpt, “Nobody’s Girl” co-author Amy Wallace supported Giuffre’s claims. He added that Mr Giuffre “knew” that the names of those involved in his abuse had not been released.

“What she always said to me was, ‘I may not remember the day or the time or the date, but if a man raped me six inches from my face, I would remember his face,'” Wallace said.

Wallace called the abuse that Giuffre claimed went beyond sexual assault by Epstein and Maxwell a “modern-day ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,'” and said they asked Giuffre to bear their child and relinquish her parental rights. “Interestingly, that was the straw that broke the camel’s back,” Wallace said.

Wallace said he doesn’t think Maxwell needs a pardon from President Donald Trump. “This woman was complicit in sexual abuse and should never be tolerated.”

She added that Giuffre did not implicate Trump as part of Epstein’s “ring” while writing her memoir. Trump told reporters in July that Giuffre was among the staff he “stole” from Epstein and worked at the spa.

Family denies conspiracy to kill Giuffre

“CBS Sunday Morning” also interviewed Amanda and Giuffre’s sister-in-law and brother Skye Roberts, who told the show that losing custody of Giuffre in a legal battle with her husband may have contributed to her suicide.

“The worst thing that could happen to a mother is to be separated from her children. That was something she could not bear,” Amanda said.

Amanda denied conspiracy theories that Giuffre did not take her own life. “I was with her in her last days. So I was the one who found my lost sister.”
