Tyler Robinson appeared in person for the first time before a judge on charges in the shooting death of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
Erica Kirk, the widow of murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk, and right-wing influencer Candace Owens are scheduled to meet for a “private, face-to-face discussion” on Monday, December 15th.
Owens, a former employee of Turning Point USA, an organization co-founded by Charlie Kirk, has drawn the ire of other conservatives by promoting conspiracy theories about his September 10 death.
Erika Kirk and Owens acknowledged the meeting in a social media post, with Erika Kirk writing, “We have agreed to suspend public discussions, livestreams, and tweets until this meeting concludes.”
Erika Kirk added, “I look forward to a productive conversation.”
Owens replied, “I’m really looking forward to this discussion.”
Kirk, 31, an ally of President Donald Trump, was shot and killed on September 10 while speaking to students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, is charged with aggravated murder and other felonies in Kirk’s death.
Erica Kirk and Candace Owens to meet after conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk’s death
After Charlie Kirk’s death, Owens promoted conspiracy theories about the circumstances of his murder on his podcast.
“Lies are being told and we need to break them now,” Owens said on the Sept. 15 broadcast, baselessly suggesting that the government may be hiding information about Kirk’s death.

In an interview that aired on Dec. 13, CBS News’ Bari Weiss asked Erica Kirk what she would say to Owens about conspiracy theories.
Erika Kirk responded, “Stop it. That’s it. That’s all I’m saying. Stop it.”
“The Charlie Kirk Show” producer Blake Neff denounced Owens’ claims in a YouTube video on Dec. 3, and later announced that a group of Charlie Kirk’s friends would livestream their response on Dec. 15. According to a statement from Erika Kirk, the livestream has been postponed in lieu of a meeting with Owens.
‘We were brother and sister.’ What you need to know about Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk’s friendship
In a Sept. 11 YouTube video, Owens said she first met Charlie Kirk in 2017, when “no one knew who Charlie Kirk was.”
She said Charlie Kirk hired her “on the spot” to work at Turning Point USA. Owens remained with the organization as communications director until 2019.
Owens said in the video that she considered Charlie Kirk “my best friend and my brother.”
“We were brother and sister,” she said. “We were strengthened. Our relationship was forged in the fire, the fire of politics. I knew him. I knew Charlie. The real Charlie. And Charlie knew the real Candace.”
