Trump’s base is not satisfied with the findings of Epstein’s memo

FALLOUT continues after the Department of Justice and the FBI’s announcement. They found no evidence that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein maintains a “client list.”

More Context: President Donald Trump’s allies, as well as many supporters across the country, are asking the government to share additional information about cases of dishonorable financiers and convicted sex offenders.

  • After that, a new report by the FBI and the Department of Justice Last week, officials said they would not acknowledge the “client list” or evidence that Epstein, who died while awaiting trial, did not commit suicide.
  • The findings prompted a pushback among some Trump supporters. He argued that the presidential administration has not responded to its promise of transparency with the American people. The outrage comes after years of claims from Trump’s inner circle that the government is hiding information about Epstein’s possible companions and the circumstances of his death.
  • A political future in crisis: FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino was weighing the future with the Bureau after a clash with Attorney General Pam Bondi in Epstein’s case file. But Trump said on Sunday that Bongino was in “good condition.”

New flood hits Texas

Heavy rains and new floods in central Texas Sunday prompted rapid water rescue and hampered a rigorous search for victims of the flood that cleaned the area more than a week ago, killing at least 132 people and leaving the devastation that followed. Most search and recovery operations along the Guadalupe River in Carr County have been suspended. Rescue personnel, equipment and vehicles “will need to be removed from the river area soon,” county officials said in a social media post Sunday. Meanwhile, Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem on Sunday defended FEMA’s response to the flood.

Faith leaders plan protests in the South rather than budget cuts

Earlier this month, Congress passed President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.” This is a spending plan that includes tax cuts as well as a federal/state health insurance program for low-income people, as well as a Food Stamp benefits program. The highest poverty rates are integrated in the South. One organizer said Southern lawmakers who supported the bill “voted against their people.”

That troublesome moment when Chelsea won

Chelsea star Cole Palmer seemed like many in the world wondering why President Trump was standing in the middle of Sunday’s Trophy Celebration after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 at the FIFA Club World Cup. “Are you going to leave?” James asked Trump before he raised the golden gray trophy. Trump smiled and applauded among Chelsea players before FIFA President Gianni Infantino eventually pulled him apart. The nagging moment is a lasting image of this competitive, yet controversial Club World Cup, which will be held in the US this summer.
