Foodies looking to get El Pororoco’s Poro Bowl, Tacos or other menu items will soon be holding new restaurants in six states, including Colorado and Texas.

The Mexican-style restaurant is based in California, but plans to open at least 10 restaurants in other states in 2025. A spokesman for El Polo Coro Coro confirmed it on May 30th. According to the company, it is the largest system-wide expansion since 2022.

According to a spokesman, the new addition will be built on the company’s new store design, announced in October 2024, as El Poloroco celebrates its 50th anniversary. The new restaurant features updated branding elements, upgraded furniture and lighting, energy-efficient food and HVAC.

So far, in 2025, El Pororoco has opened two new locations. Both are in California. One is in Los Banos and the other in Lompoc.

However, a company spokesperson said most future locations to open in 2025 are set for markets outside of California, including Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Texas and Washington.

The spokesman said the company plans to open a new location in 2026.

Customers can expect locations open from 2026 onwards in states such as California, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Texas and Washington.

El Polocoroco serves chicken marinated with citrus fruits and spices, then not only lit on low flame for 60 minutes, but also hand-covered guacamole, salsa fresca and avocado salsa using real tomatoes, corianthro and onions.
