German police say the driver was driving at over 320 kph (199 mph) in the west of Oatbaan, west of Berlin.
The unspecified speedster was caught on July 28th while racing along the A2 Highway near Burg.
The driver was fined 900 euros ($1,043), stripped of two points from his driver’s license and was banned from driving for three months, Magdeburg Police Station said Tuesday.
A roadside radar stand known as the “executive trailer” caught the driver on regular checks. Readings from the exhibit showed a “highest recording speed” of 321 kph, police said.
Germany’s famous Autobahn Expressway has attracted appeal and interest around the world for its lack of speeding restrictions. German authorities and driving clubs have been debating over the years whether policies should be continued.
However, some highways are subject to speed limits, so infinite speeds are not universal for cars. The limit for the highway section where record-breaking drivers were captured is 120 kph (74.5 mph).
