Don’t count Kansas City chiefs while the NFL is still dead

Date:

play

  • The Kansas City Chiefs secured their first victory of the season against the New York Giants, showing signs of overcoming an early slump.
  • Patrick Mahomes received more support from the attack, with multiple players contributing to the run and passing game.
  • Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton spent his career night helping fill the gap left by injured and stopped players.

Now it’s more similar.

Patrick Mahomes didn’t need to throw it and It runs it like the Kansas City Chiefs won the first game of the season on Sunday night.

Now, the Chiefs Kingdom. Exhale.

Mahomes had significant assistance! From the large character when the Chiefs defeated the New York Giants (22-9) at MetLife Stadium. No, Chiefs’ crime has not reached playoff levels. At least not yet. But there have been progress. There’s a bit more hope as the Chiefs showed clear signs of getting out of funk.

Filming, the fiery sight of Travis Kelse Yapping with his venerable coach Andy Reed could have been another indication that things might eventually return to normal for a team that stumbled on a Super Bowl hangover that was apparent after a historic three-peat bid.

And hey, Mahomes, who completed 22 of 37 passes for 224 yards, rushed all two yards with a touchdown and a zero pick on Sunday! In the first two games, he rushed over all NFL quarterbacks with 57 and 66 yards, but this wasn’t the ideal statistic for one of the game’s most electric passersby.

Given the misfires of the first two games and the load that Mahome endured as the team’s main rusher with both losses, Formula appears to be in turn in what he now imagines as a lead plan.

Look at all your contributors. Tyquan Thornton – Who? – Played a career night with five catches for 71 yards, demonstrating the ability to supply Xavier worthy (dislocated shoulder) and some of the missing big play punches without Laci Rice (suspension). Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt rushed for 79 yards. This was even more important considering that Mahomes tallied 47 yards each to the ground during a 0-2 start, which ran for 123 yards. Juju Smith-Schuster, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Kelce and Noah Gray split 15 catches. There was a balance and purpose.

“We just want to play better,” Mahomes said in a post-game interview about NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast. “We don’t meet the standards.”

We know. The first half of Sunday night was also tattered. They settled on three Harrison Backer field goals and a fourth attempt that kicker missed. The turnaround came after halftime. Maybe if the Chief can go back into the mix and play himself and win a 10, it will prove to be a pivotal momentth Straight AFC waist crown.

why? The Chiefs made a second half kickoff, producing a crisp 11-play, 74-yard drive with Mahomes’ 5-yard TD toss capped by Thornton. In the fourth quarter, they were 77 yards on nine plays, closing off a Hunt’s 1-yard score. Two long TD drives can bring amazing unit reliability.

Mahomes said, “We had to clean it up.”

The work is not perfect for units trying to overcome the absence of big play receivers. The Chiefs (1-2) need to sharpen them even further next weekend with an explosive attack that will bring the Baltimore Ravens along with Lamar Jackson to challenge Mahomes & Company to keep pace.

It’s a measurement stick that says more about whether the Chief has returned to the mix as a candidate for the top.
