President Donald Trump is accusing “Late Night” host Seth Meyers of mocking him.

In a lengthy Truth Social post shared on Saturday, Nov. 1, President Trump called Meyers “the least talented person in the history of television to ‘act’ live” in response to the comedian’s recent trip to Asia. “In fact, he might be the worst performer, live or otherwise,” he added.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that he watched Meyers’ show “the other day for the first time in years,” and that “he talked endlessly about electric catapults on aircraft carriers, and I was frustrated that they weren’t as good as steam catapults, which are much cheaper.”

“Forget about the government shutdown, it’s catapult time!” read Myers’ late night show caption on Instagram, as well as a video of the host’s comments. “I mean, listen to him present this expert paper. Wait, no, this can’t be right, Catapult?”

President Trump addressed troops in Japan during a recent visit and vowed to issue an executive order to restore the use of steam-powered catapults on aircraft carriers. “I know a lot about these ships…I want to know (about) catapults, which is better, electricity or steam? They spend billions of dollars making stupid electricity…” Trump continued.

“Guy spends more time thinking about catapults than Wile E. Coyote,” Meyers joked on the show. “Then he’ll start complaining about how our military is no longer bound to rockets.”

“We were strapping our soldiers to rockets, and they loved it,” Myers said, mocking Trump’s voice. “But then everything woke up and said you can’t strap people to rockets. But we miss those days, so we’ll bring them back.”

Later in the episode, Meyers said, “Experts say it would cost billions of dollars to go back to the old system, but Trump thinks he knows more about aviation than anyone else because he’s dancing on the runway like one of those guys holding the signal stick.”

But Trump didn’t find Meyers’ impersonation or comments at all funny. “He was, time and time again, a truly deranged lunatic,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Why would NBC waste their time and money on this guy???”

He concluded his comments by saying that Myers “has no talent,” that his show “has no ratings,” and that he is “100% anti-Trump and probably illegal.”

President Trump’s comments about Meyers on Nov. 1 were not the first time he criticized the comedian. After the president learned in August that NBC had renewed Meyers’ contract, Trump went on to talk about his ratings, talent and intelligence, calling Meyers “an unstable child-like personality.”

But Meyers, like many other late-night hosts, including Jimmy Kimmel and Jon Stewart, did not shy away from criticizing Trump.
